So wish I’d bought this 3 1/2 yrs ago!! So much better than the dremmel for dog nails!! So much easier to handle, less stress for me worrying about injuring my puppers with the head. Gave me more confidence which in turn truly helped my dog because I wasn’t being as awkward! The sound is by far way quieter even on its highest speed! It’s def the best for my toy sized dogs nails, but with that being said, it will also work nice on larger dogs only draw back for larger dogs you might prefer more power but it’s about the comfort of your animal so I feel so and steady will win the race!One suggestion go watch a few YouTube videos on how to correctly grind the nails! That helped a great deal also especially with this particular brand! Gave me alot of confidence to get his nailed trimmed! Get yourself one you won’t regret it!!

My dog was a little scared of it at first because of the sound but after a few times using it he is now OK. It is quiet but it's also a dremel so it will make noise. I like that is have a light on it, so you can see the bloodlines in the nail. It's very easy to use and charges like a phone. It does the job and I've had it for a year now with no issues. Recommended if you want a different solution from nail clippers.

I agree with the other reviews. This product is amazingly quiet and smooth. They definitely deserve high marks for that. But what led me to not give 5 stars were two things. The first was what I learned about the grinding stone only after I made my purchase. I have just received and started to use my unit, but I have been reading comments that these wheels wear out rather quickly, and are rather expensive to replace. I have been a machinist in a welding/machine shop since the 80's. We use diamond tools all the time on HARDENED METALS. Now I can assure you, animal claws are NOWHERE NEAR hardened metal! It might cost more for the initial product, but they could manufacture wheels that would last for YEARS, if not forever, if they chose to. The other thing that I don't really like is the non-replaceable battery. This is just another product that is designed to be eventually thrown away and replaced once the life of the battery expires.

Excellent! It was easy to use, no noise. I am finally able to get all nails done in one sitting! It took about a month to get my Chihuahua use to this, I filed her nails with an Emory board for about three weeks daily to get her use to the feel of sanding, then one day, picked up this. Oh, HAPPY DAY! 😍 Quality seems good, speeds are good, the light is great to see nails.

So I purchased this grinder before I gave up hoping that one day my dog would let me trim his nails without it being a frustrating, stressful and at times traumatic for both of us.I used to take my dog to the vet for nail trimming, and not only it was expensive, but my dog fought and cried and yelped during the entire process I knew I just could not put my dog through it every 3 weeks. I tried to clip his nails at home but it was just an impossible task. My dog would just start yelping even before I even touched the nail to the clipper!So I bough a nail trimmer (cant remember the brand) but my dog would just start running under the sofa to the sound of the trimmer. When I somehow managed to hold my dog and use the nail trimmer, it was awkward to hold and loud I gave up using it.I tried using the over the counter nail filing sticks for human nails but that was a complete failure as well.After reading hundreds of reviews for nail trimmers I sort of prayed the Lucky Tail trimmer was the right choice, and the lord heard my prayers. This trimmer has made a Huge difference! Its quiet and easy to hold. Instructions say that one must make the dog acquainted with the trimmer before trying to use it. I first introduced my do to the trimmer by letting him sniff it and "touch it" at least once per day for 3 or four days. The following 3 days I would turn the trimmer on and off so my my dog would get familiar with the sound - not touching the trimmer to the paws yet. Note that I used tiny pieces of bacon during the process so my dog related the sound of the trimmer to the sweet taste of bacon :)Without removing the trimmer's cap, I turned it on and gently touched the trimmer to the bottom of the paw, followed by a small piece of bacon. I did this several times during the day for 2 or 3 days. My next step was turning the trimmer on and touch the trimmer to the nail - without removing the trimmer's cap- followed by a piece of bacon . After a week and a half - sort of- I turned on the trimmer, removed the trimmer's cap and started gently filing one nail for just a second or two followed by a piece of bacon.To my surprise my dog just stayed still eager to get some bacon and did not mind the trimmer at all! So I can now say that my dog enjoys getting his nails filed! I cant even imagine how I dealt with stressful and frustrating nail trimmings for years unnecessarily.The only reason I give the Lucky Tail trimmer 4 starts is because the nail grinder head that comes with the grinder is not coarse enough and it takes a white to file the nail down "efficiently". It does work, but it takes a while. Also, there are no Extra Hard nail grinder heads sold individually or packs of Extra Hard nail grinder heads. I had to purchase a 3 pack with a soft, med and hard nail trimmer heads but I know I will only use the hard one and the medium one.LuckyTail, Please make 3 packs of the Extra Hard nail trimmer heads!!! ( or send me some free ones since I most likely will throw away the Med and soft nail trimmer heads I buy.Excuse my typos :)
